"Break a Leg" with SCAL

My friend is running the NY marathon in a couple weeks and I found a cute shoe on svgcuts.com.  Then I wrote "Break A Leg" into SCAL for the sentiment.  I can't wait to send this to him!! I'm entering this card in the Sports theme Throwback Challenge at My Creative Time.
It was hard to get a good picture without the glare, but you get the idea.  I used some shiny cardstock for the blue base on the shoe.  I ran the shoestrings through the Xyron and put some MS black glitter on them for a little fun.  I ran the blue background cardstock through the cuttlebug and also used the cuttlebug for the black background behind the sentiment.  I put glossy accents on "Break A Leg" but I'm not sure it shows well in this pic.  This card was a lot of fun to make!

Confirmation Cards

Hello! Two of my good friend's children are being confirmed tomorrow and I had a heck of a time coming up with cards for them.  I didn't know where to begin with a religious card.  So I kept it simple and I think they turned out well.  I did however make both of them gatefold cards since I picked up a Martha Stewart scoring board yesterday! So these are my first tries with this type of card.
I used my *NEW* (yay) cuttlebug on the front and some MS metallic inks.  I told myself no stitching but I can't seem to resist!

For the daffodils, I used the Walk in my Garden cartridge. I also used the cuttlebug again with the distressed folder for the background.

This card was for a girl so I was able to play a little more :)
I used this neat folder with the cuttlebug for the birds on the vine background.  So cute!  I used Give a Hoot cart for the doves.  I used the border layer and just snipped them apart to put them on both sides.  I like how it came out.

I got these hyacinths from the Walk in my Garden cartridge.  The small pieces were a little bit of a hassle but it's all done now :)  And of course, more stitching!

Glossy Accents!

Another exciting embellishment for this cricut beginner-Glossy Accents!  I made this little hippo for a friend's daughter's 1st birthday.  I just had to use the water to test out this newest find (for me!:)) I am having so much fun cricutting and finding all this inspiration from all you bloggers is a blast!!

SMILE :)

I made this card for the Throwback Thursday "Animal" themed challenge at http://www.creativetimeforme.com/  Yay for my first challenge!!

Heat Gun!

Ok, so while I dream of getting a cuttlebug, I picked up a heat gun and some embossing powders at the Hobby Lobby that JUST opened up here.  So I've been having fun with that.  I made this card for my sister who got hit by a car (while walking in a parking lot b/c the driver was TEXTING!!).  I love an excuse to use pink and love love love paper flowers!!

Basic card w/ ribbon threading

I love the Give a Hoot cart.  So many options.  I made this card for a friend for having my family over for dinner.  I think the little bird is just so cute.  I also liked the way the ribbon came out.  I am a bit obsessed with birds and owls at the moment.  My next cart must be 3 Birds on Parade!!!

Fun with Flocking!

As a cricut novice, I was so excited to discover flocking!  How fun is that!  I didn't plan out my layers very well though so as you can see, I had to glitter over the already flocked body on the unicorn.  I used the Once Upon A Princess cart for this one.

Xyron!!!

This was the first card I made using the Xyron 510.  I am addicted now!  It's so simple to get the glitter on without looking all messy.  I used my friend's cuttlebug to emboss the top scalloped layer and Just Because Cards for the sentiment.  I am hoping to get my own cuttlebug very soon...

Birthday Card for a guy!?

I really did not know how I could make a card for a good guy friend of mine without it being too girly.  I mean, do guys even like cards?  Who doesn't, right? So I stuck to the fall colors since his birthday is in the end of October.  I love the argyle background on Wild Card.  I used the squirrel from Give a Hoot and I'm hoping it came out not so feminine.

I've caught "the bug"!!

Hello crafters! Welcome to my brand new blog! I've always enjoyed using my creative side and recently I treated myself to a Cricut Expression.  Now that I've collected some good cartridges, I've really been bitten by the cricutting bug!  I've been inspired by my good friend and awesome crafter as well as some great ladies I've found through this whole blogosphere.  So here we go! Please join me through my crafting adventures as I learn new techniques and try to perfect my craft (no pun intended) :)
